Creating a Career Aligned with Strengths, Stability, and Shared Success
When was the last time you took an assessment or prepared for an examination? At what point did you stop sitting down to study for a test? Would you consider doing it as an adult?
In 2013, I decided to step back from formal education. I had once dreamed of completing the Trinity College Exams in Speech and Drama, a subject I was passionate about, but setbacks led me to put that goal aside. However, during the lockdown in 2020, I saw an opportunity to invest in my career with the EDP in Digital Marketing from XLRI. The rigorous structure, experienced faculty, and well-organized curriculum rekindled my faith in professional learning and led me to pursue further certification in Soft Skills Training with ICBI.
After years in Graphic and Advertising Design, transitioning to Soft Skills felt incredibly aligned with my strengths. This wasn’t merely a personal passion—it was a career move that allowed me to use my natural abilities to communicate, connect, and create impact. Studying Soft Skills was like discovering a career tailored to my strengths and values, while also fulfilling my responsibilities. Each class felt purposeful, providing insights I could directly apply to my work, relationships, and life.
Yet, this was just the tip of the iceberg—my journey truly began to make sense during the Train the Trainer program. ICBI brought together about 14 of us, and while we started as strangers, there was an instant sense of camaraderie. Initially, we were all a bit reserved, sizing each other up, unsure of what to expect. But soon, we were sharing jokes, laughing together, and genuinely connecting. As Dr. Seuss would put it, our “weirdness” started to match.
Over the eight days, we went from tentative to inseparable. Encouraged by our trainer, Dr. Prashant, we created a WhatsApp group, where we continued the fun and learning beyond the classroom. Our group, affectionately named “Tangent Tanya,” became our safe space, filled with shared notes, resources, and plenty of laughs. Dr. Prashant often found himself saying, “Now it’s time for Tangent Tanya to leave the room!” as some of us would easily pull the class off-topic with our endless questions and banter.
That experience reminded me of the power of a strong, supportive network. We pushed each other to succeed, celebrated each other’s wins, and encouraged each other through every challenge. This instant, close-knit connection with like-minded individuals was transformative—it made learning not just a professional milestone but a deeply enjoyable and meaningful journey.
Today, I am proud to be in the Soft Skills Training field, a career that not only allows me to be my authentic self but also fulfills my responsibility to those who depend on me. Building a stable business and a pipeline of clients has given me both financial security and the chance to make a difference. Programs like “Career Clarity: Discover Your Dream in 5 Days” allow me to guide others toward careers that honor their strengths and responsibilities.
If you are looking for a stable, fulfilling career that aligns with your strengths and responsibilities, let’s connect.
